The V8 Australicars series is Really Rubbish Racing's fourth season of racing on PC using Race 07.

Holden take on Ford in this classic head-to-head Down Under. 4 door, rear wheel drive family saloons with almost 600 bhp ripping from 7 litre, V8 engines, topped off with slick Hankook tyres and aerodynamic wings.

Format

Although there are 8 rounds, there are only 14 races. For the first time in our PC racing history we’ll have races of different lengths.

30/30 Split

The series will feature 3 30/30 Split rounds, with 2 races of equal 30 minute length, the first grid decided by a standard qualifying session and the second with the top-8 finishers reversed. These races will begin with standing starts.

Feature/Sprint

A further 3 rounds will see the return of the favourite Feature/Sprint format. A standard qualifying session will set the grid for a 40 minute feature race with rolling start. Once that is done we’ll switch to a second server (because of various restrictions) where a quick, 5-minute SuperPole qualifying session will set the grid for a 20 minute standing start sprint to the flag.

Enduro

To top off the season, 2 rounds will be Enduros, featuring a single 60 minute long race with a grid set by standard qualifying and a rolling start. These races will carry double points, making reaching the chequered flaag all the more important.

Entry List

Entries into the V8 Australicars season are as follows. As the Race 07 server limit is 25, there can only be a maximum of 25 drivers in any given race. A sign up thread will be posted in the forum in the week leading up to the race. The first 25 to sign up will be given priority. Sign ups 26 and above will be given reserve status should any of the first 25 drop out. Pleb Club members will be favoured over non-Pleb Club members.

Calendar & Results

The 8 round calendar will take in all that the island continent of Australia has to offer, as well as 1 round overseas. From the tropical north to the windy south, from the arid west to the populated east, and a jaunt over to Texas just because. V8 Australicars will visit Adelaide, Austin, Bathurst, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth, Surfers Paradise and Sydney. We begin on Sunday 18th January, race for 5 fortnights before a break for the GEARS Mosport race on 29th March. We return for the final 3 rounds beginning 12th April, with rounds 7 and 8 being on back-to-back Sundays in order to squeeze everything in before returning to Europe for GEARS Green Hell on 17th May.

Championship Standings

Points

The top twelve finishers in each race will score points.

Position 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th 7th 8th 9th 10th 11th 12th
Split/Sprint/Feature 20 15 12 10 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1

The Drivers Champion will be the driver with the most points at the end of the 14 races. If points totals are tied between 2 or more drivers, race result countback will determine the champion, followed by fastest total combined race time. Drivers must finish the race to score points. The season will incorporate dropped scores. Drivers who compete in all 14 races will drop their worst combined round score.

The rookie driver finishing highest in the Drivers Championship will win the Rookie Trophy.

The driver with the most points from the two enduro races will be crowned the Enduro Champion.

The team with the highest combined points total from all of their drivers will win the Teams Championship. Dropped scores do not apply here.
