Really Rubbish Racing: "Ex Lucis Viridis ad Vexillum Caeruleum" - From the Green Lights, to the Blue Flag. We race for fun because we're not very good.
Founded in June 2011, Really Rubbish Racing is a collection sim racers running the gambit from worrying awful to painfully average. We like nothing more than living our motorsport dreams through a tellybox. The founders first met on the excellent Formula One blog F1 Fanatic. The majority of our racing is done over Xbox Live using Forza Motorsport 4.
Our Twitter feed can be followed @rlyrbshracing, and various race action, highlights (and lowlights) will be uploaded to our Youtube channel. And of course, the wiki-powered website you are currently reading contains all our race information, rules, lists of drivers and teams and much much more!
Over the past year and a half we've hosted 7 seasons of Forza Motorsport action, starting with the multi-car, multi-class F1Fanatic Forza Motorsport 3 Championship last June. Following that was a season of Touring Car racing run to the S2000 regulations seen in the BTCC and WTCC. Following the release of Forza Motorsport 4, a short season of Starter Car action took place before the winter break. 2012 exploded into action with a high-powered 10-week season of Hyper Global Tourenwagen Masters run to DTM specifications. May saw the highest turn out in club history during the much loved MEMES championship featuring cars predominantly from the 1980s. Next came the people's championship, OSCAR. Put together by 24 of the club's members the series consisted of a number of varying combinations such as Datsun 510s at Camino Viejo and Lamborghini Diablos at Mugello. Season 7 saw the club return to high powered machines in the shape of GT cars such as the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, McLaren MP4-12C GT3, and the Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. We also hosted our first ever Support Series in the form of the Trofeo MiTo.
In addition to the main seasons, there have been several Special Events. These often see the club letting its hair down and trying something different. We've seen everything from a demolition derby to oval racing, via super-powered Renault Twingos and a full length F1 race.
Really Rubbish Racing memberships are open to newcomers who wish to join in our mix of racing, community, and (most importantly) a little bit of motorsport role-playing. Whatever your skill level is (as long as it's not blisteringly fast!) and as long as you're passionate about some fair and fun racing, we want you! But just because we're not very good, doesn't mean we don't play fair. We take our racing very seriously, with well thought out rules and regulations to keep the racing as close as possible for everyone involved.
In addition, we are both a Forza car club and a league. Ideally if you sign up to race with us, it's because you either are new to the game and have no car club or a league you regularly race in, or are already in a Car Club and/or league but wish to join and race with us. We like all members to be members of our community, our Car Club and have access to our Club Garage and display our Club's tag [RlyR] in front of their gamertag within Forza. Already having a Car Club and league that you are a member of but dipping into our league to race every now and then is not really what we're about.
Have a read of our club rules and then send an email to reallyrubbishracing@gmail.com if you're interested in joining. You can also join in the discussion on our forums.
